Photos/JohnIIobituary.jpg.">

Born 26 Sep 1822 in Dearborn County, Indiana to parents John Easton I and Mary Ann Wallace

Married Lucinda Sanders 8 Jun 1845 in Bullitt County, Ky.

( Lucinda Sanders died 17 May 1859 in Bullitt County, Ky. at a young age of 32 yrs. old
after complications from their 8th child )

Married his 2nd wife Julia Ann Hutchinson/Hutcherson 4 Dec 1860

John Easton II died 10 Aug 1911 in Dearborn County, Indiana
at the age of 88 yrs. 11 mos. 14 days
and is buried in the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora, Indiana

This John Easton II and his first wife Lucinda Saunders were my great-great-grandparents.

Obituary Notes:

The above obituary appeared in "The Aurora Bulletin' newspaper on Friday, August 25, 1911.

Did John Easton II actually have a total of 17 children ( instead of the 16 children mentioned in the obituary )?

Eight children were born to the marriage to his first wife Lucinda Sanders Easton before her passing after complications from the eighth child.

Although the obituary says 8 children were born to the marriage of John and his 2nd wife Julia Easton,
did they actually have 9 children (maybe the 8 day old infant that died 4 Aug 1874 was not included in the obituary?)

Perhaps after his father John Easton I was killed on Christmas Day, 25 Dec 1840, perhaps the son John Easton II and his mother Mary and brother James left Dearborn County Indiana and moved to Bullitt County, Ky. as they appear on the 1850 and 1860 census in Bullitt County. It appears his two brothers had already been in Bullitt County----as David Easton married Mary A. Sanders on 3 Dec 1835 in Bullitt County, Ky. and Robert Easton married Elizabeth Sanders on 29 Nov 1838 in Bullitt County also . The 1850 census (details below) shows the mother of John II Easton as "Mary age 51 female" and living in the household with he and Lucinda and their 2 children. The 1860 census (details below) shows the mother of John II Easton as "Mary age 64 female" living in the household with he and Lucinda and their 7 children. I have not found where his mother Mary Wallace Easton is buried.

John Easton II (b 1822) himself definitely moved from Dearborn County, Indiana to Bullitt County, Kentucky sometime between the 1840 Indiana Census and 8 Jun 1845 (the date he married Lucinda Sanders in Bullitt County, Ky.) and his mom either traveled with him or she joined him there before the 1850 Census in Bullitt County, Ky

The Sanders and Easton homes in Bullitt County Ky are no longer standing. A subdivision was put in on the property in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

He was united in matrimony to Julia Ann Hutchinson December 4, 1859, and to this union 8 children were born. The mother and 7 children preceded him to the Great Beyond.
He leaves to mourn their loss 5 children, many grand children and great grand children and a host of neighbors and friends.

Our Father has answered the summons,
How calmly and sweetly he rests,
Twas Jesus who called him
And he passed to the realms of the Blest
